SUNSHINE SESSIONS PORTFOLIO
Cake smash!!!! So when I think cake smash - I think indoors, an entire session, perhaps a studio… a lot of mess. And I imagine this is what most clients think a cake smash is too! But for literal years now; I have been convincing my clients that it doesn’t look like that at all! All you need is 10 minutes at the end of a regular outdoor family session! Hide the cake from your little one, so they haven’t spotted it beforehand. And then we’ll lay down some blankets, whip out the cake and let them go wild when getting messy and covered in cake doesn’t matter as we already have all the wonderful family shots that we need! 🎂
This post is for anyone worried about what to wear for your shoot! Always ask for advice. Be brave with your choices and if you’re not sure - stick to the basics. Whilst your photos are about your connections and your faces - what you’re wearing is absolutely the icing on the cake and deserves some time to be thought about!
One of the things that makes a newborn at home shoot so very special - is no two are EVER the same. We are quite literally beholden to the children present and what they decide is going to happen. And I love that. And I remind each and every client to just smile and laugh through the chaos. Because posed but stressed photos are painful. Chaotic but spontaneous photos are beautiful ♥️

Postcards from Greece 🇬🇷
Three summers ago we island hopped with the boys from Santorini, to Naxos, to Paros and to Mykonos. It was my favourite holiday ever. Greece will always be my favourite - the vibes, the peace, the heat. All of it. Once we had Sol, and three children meant ferry hopping wouldn’t be so easy now we’re outnumbered; we went from Mykonos to Naxos last summer. But now, with three children and one of whom is now an unhinged two year old who won’t nap or be contained to a pushchair, even that seemed like hard work 🤣 So we picked an all inclusive in mainland Greece instead! @ajulresort had everything we needed! I swear I sifted through 75 hotels on Jet2 before finally making my decision 🫠 It was incredibly remote with not much around and a bit of a crappy nearby town, and the transfer was an hour and a half BUT the hotel was fabulous - legitimately PERFECT - with our own private pool for our villa room, all the food (gyros, donuts, muffins and ice cream) we could eat and big main pools with awesome slides and a private beach too. They didn’t seem to have time restrictions on the pools which was actually amazing - the boys swan at night in the main pools whilst watching the outdoor cinema the hotel put on each night 🥹 It was also SO quiet, except for the absolute bangers they played fork the pool bar each day 🤣☀️ We loved it, and although all inclusive without much ‘exploring’ isn’t really US, it was perfect for this season with a toddler! Highlyyyy recommend ☀️
Come to Tuscany with me for a wedding in the Lucca hills at Al Bastini 🍋 …
7.55am flight from Heathrow to Pisa 🇮🇹 From there, a hire car to Lucca with a two night stay at Exe Toscana. A wedding in the Tuscan Hills just outside Lucca at Al Bastini - a beautiful villa with a pool and terrace and the most wonderful venue for an intimate wedding. 11am flight home the following morning but not before a quick visit to the leaning tower of Pissssaaaa 🍊
I know there is always a *feeling* for my ladies breastfeeding their older babies when it comes to my breastfeeding celebration shoot every year. Because they ask me… they ASK, if their older baby is ALLOWED to join. If it’s OK, for them to bring an older child. But the shoot will be filled with little babies and new mummas? And I know the very feeling myself, now that I fed my third baby to just over 2 years old. I worries what other people would think as my toddler stood up with my nipple in his mouth and tried to walk along whilst breastfeeding. And asked for boobie….. And I think it’s really, really important that women work on adjusting that feeling to pride - and a feeling of achievement and superpower. So, yes! Come along with your older baby and show the new mummas how it’s done! Show them what you have achieved and what they can too! Give them someone to admire and look up to and realise their own potential, through. You’re the most important mums on my shoot - you are the pioneers and the pedastools! One of my only regrets in my life is not feeding my first two boys for longer than 6 months. And that’s no one else’s regret - some will find that incredible, others have no interest in feeding, for some that’s a walk in the park. But please - mums feeding their babies well into their second, third and fourth years - come along to my shoots. We’re so very very proud to have you ♥️
This was one of the most perfect little wedding afternoons I’ve ever had. My gorgeous couple who truly looked flawless, boarded a boat at The Sheridan Marine, a little further up the river from their wedding breakfast venue at the @thebeetleandwedgeboathouse and hired me to sail with them for the short journey. They’d married earlier in the day at the registry office and their guests had headed to the pub, without knowing these guys were catching a boat down! So cute. The B&W is such a beautiful pub and I found a little patch of willow tree for some perfect group shots before they headed inside for dinner. Honestly so perfect and just two hours hire ♥️
What does two hours of wedding photography look like?
It looks like - capturing the most important parts of your day - the parts that matter the most to you!
It looks like - a 30 minute registry office ceremony and some family shots afterwards with your most special guests
It looks like - your legal UK wedding before your bigger day abroad
It looks like - wedding photography that didn’t mean you had to sacrifice something else, financially
It looks like - capturing moments with guests that may not be able to stay the whole day
You don’t always HAVE to have a photography for 10 hours straight. If a smaller wedding is for you, or you’d like a photographer who can be flexible with their package - you’ve found her here 🤣♥️
